In the summer of 2004. Dreamwave released a special one-shot issue containing four unrelated stories from different corners of the Transformers mythors.

Each story had a single page of information listing the crucial characters, and recapping the plot of the series thus-far to make each story more accessible to newer readers. As usual, there was a Wavelengths page, this time with a note from the desk of Don Figueroa.

Readers then had the opportunity to fill out a card to vote wether Beast Wars or Robots in Disguise would get a miniseries the following year. Beast Wars won by a large margin - however the miniseries was never finished because of Dreamwave's closing.

A 'Winter-special' follow up was planned, featuring a story about Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus, and several character profiles, however like many Dreamwave projects, this was never released.

On the Planet Beest, Megatron battles against Razorclaw, the last of the Predacon team to be defeated. Although Razorclaw is able to put deep scratches into Megatron's metallic skin, the feral Predacon makes a tactical withdrawal into the dense foliage of the surrounding area. Immersed in the hunt, Megatron follows Razorclaw into the jungle, leaving his Fusion Canon and Air Clone Warriors behind. But despite Megatron's lack of weaponry, he is still the victor.

Hours later, Megatron finishes the process of combining his defeated opponents into perhaps his greatest warrior: Predaking.

  • The "Planet Beest" this story takes place on, is the home to the "Battle Beasts", a seperate toyline, which once briefly crossed over with Transformers in an episode of the Japanese Headmasters cartoon series.
  • This story takes place between after Megatron's revival in the back-up story of Issue #4 of the Generation 1 Ongoing, and his return to earth in Issue #9

On Decepticon Orbital Command Headquarters...

  • Snow cat explains how he cleverly snuck into the Autobot's ocean city, but before reaching his target, he falls victim to a sub-sea earthquale that disrupts his agenda. However it's also possible he was defeated by recklessly driving into a wall and being crushed by falling pipes.
  • Slugslinger explains how he cleverly snuck into the Autobot's ocean city, but before reaching his target, he falls victim to an electrostatic security perimeter. However it's also possible he was defeated by a torrent of waste being flushed out of the same tube Slugslinger was using to break in.
  • Sharkticon explains how he cleverly snuck into the Autobot's ocean city, but before reaching his target, he falls victim to a strategic lockdown protocol. However it's also possible he was defeated by a Kicker and the Energon Saber.

Megatron, able to determine that each of his underlings was obviously lying about there defeat, concludes that despite the Decepticons being equally unsuccessful, Slugslinger was the most adept as creating a sound lie - and thus Slugslinger is promoted to Senior Lieutenant.

With Autobot manpower stretched thin, when the Decepticons start to steal the generator, only Optimus is availible. But when Optimus arrives in Arizon, to try to convince the Decepticons to give up, Ultra Magnus starts to attack the evil-doers despite the possible harm to civilians.

Scourge, knowing that ultimately, Ultra Magnus is a good guy, directly threatens a human life to force Ultra Magnus and Prime to surrender. Sky-byte however refuses to let Scourge get away with upstaging the Predacons and thus interferes - giving Prime and Magnus the opportunity to disable Scourge.

The Predacon's leave with the generator in hand, the Decepticons leaving after them. Ultra Magnus, never willing to give up, follows. Optimus is content knowing that no humans were harmed and that perhaps there is a chance for he and his brother Ultra Magnus to one day be friends again.
