He attacked an oil tanker called the "Windward" and was soon confronted by Grimlock and Bumblebee. Hammerstrike managed to get Grimlock off him and attacked Bumblebee. Bumblebee fought Hammerstrike and had the upper hand until the arrival of the coast guards distracted Bumblebee. Hammerstrike turned the tables on Bumblebee and warned Bee to not follow him. Hammerstrike escaped and went off to a nearby oil refinery. After learning that Hammerstrike plans on creating his home world environment by polluting the sea with oil, Bumblebee and Grimlock attempted another attack on Hammerstrike at the oil refinery. When they held Hammerstrike against a wall, the Decepticon breaks an oil pipe that soon floods the ground with oil. Bumblebee and Grimlock were slipping over the oil while Hammerstrike is suited for it and uses it to his advantage. In his vehicle mode, Bumblebee managed to push Hammerstrike into an empty oil barrel that Grimlock was holding as a trap for the Decepticon. Grimlock closed the lid and trapped Hammerstrike.
