Hello. An administrator for the Teletraan-1 Transformers Wiki recently had a discussion with me about a possible merging of our wiki and their wiki. The merge could be beneficial to us, as it would greatly increase the number of viewers and editors on the wiki. Obviously, the current community and contributors to this wiki would have to be made aware of and agree to the merge. A few users on the TFP WIki Discord server have already contacted me and said they agree. What's your opinion on this?
I agree with Combatbot2015. That sounds like a good idea but this Wiki has always been seperate as a community which has proven to be useful to avoid any confusion or distruption of informaiton and personally I believe it is better this way.
That's true, this wiki has been a seperate community for over 7 years. However, combining the two wikis would attract a larger number of readers and contributors. Also, I don't really think our wiki has avoided any confusion, rather the contrary, it has caused confusion. Having multiple different Transformers Wikis that have the same content is somewhat of a nuisance. A merge would combine all our efforts. You would have one big FANDOM Transformers Wiki, instead of multiple smaller ones. Merging these wikis would be beneficial and result in greater success for everyone.
Well before I came, there were pages like Rescue bots on here and it made me question why is it there in the first place. Now I just come to accept it as a part of a different show on the same wiki which in reality it should have a seperate wiki but I just let it be. I'm used to this wiki a lot better and if we move it, then it will take a lot of weeks or maybe months to get everything. I don't think anyone has time for that so I believe we should leave this wiki as it is. It would be beneficial but at the same time I would just leave this wiki as it is for now.
It appears you have misunderstood the technical aspects of the actual merging, so let me clear it up for you. We don't have to manually copy every single page, word for word, on to that wiki. We can literally just ask FANDOM Staff to delete all pages related to the Aligned Continuity on their wiki, copy all of the pages on our wiki, and transfer it to their wiki. The staff will then close down this community and redirect the domain name to Teletraan-1. Also, if we copy the CSS and the theme, Teletraan-1 will look just like this wiki. If you still have any confusions, you can see Help:Merging Communities.
Oh well thanks for clearing that up. Honestly, I really believe that we should keep this wiki seperate. This wiki should remain it's own wiki instead of being merged. It has always been seperate and while the benefits of merging do appear adequate, the whole idea of merging just doesn't seem necessary for me at least. That's where I stand in this matter. I'm not trying to go against your beliefs or others. For now the wiki should remain as it is. Please forgive me if you find my belief to be unfair.
I don't find your belief to be unfair nor do I think you're trying to go against my own beliefs. I don't think the merge is absolutely necessary, but I do think that there are distinct advantages to merging. Let's just agree to disagree on this matter.
That's just where I stand in this matter. Yes I am aware of the benefits but all of my previous beliefs have been addressed above. Please don't attack or berate me for my beliefs after all, everyone should be entitled to their opinions and beliefs and I have mine.
I'm not trying to berate or insult you for your opinion, but are there any actual reasons for why you think this wiki should remain separate? You only said that it doesn't appear necessary for the merge to happen, which isn't really a benefit. I'm curious as to what benefits there are from not merging.
Keeping the wikia as a seperate wikia feels a little easier to manage and to control in case things go wrong. Managing and being in control does apply to merging but in that case I just believe users like myself and Combatbot would agree that this wikia feels convenient to work on just the way it is. As far as organization goes, this wikia is still working on ensuring things are well organized and I believe we can organize it a lot better when it's like this.
Exactly (on the part where you said the original articles are superb, and the other ones will take years to be fixed up at random). We don't know which ones need to be fixed up and if we go on with merging, we may take some time to find out which ones need to be worked on, maybe even longer. Having the wikia as it is now creates a reasonable working environment (even though this isn't really real life work) for users who are already familiar with it like myself and for Combatbot (even other users who have been here for a long time) to check which pages need serious work and which ones need to be updated.
If we merge, we'll have a lot more users who will be able to help out on the articles that need to be fixed up. We barely have any active editors on this wiki. Yes, we'll have a lot more pages, but we'll have a lot more users as well. By growing the community, we'll have more active editors. I also don't see why you think Teletraan-1 isn't a reasonable working environtment. We can literally import our wiki's CSS into theirs, change the theme of their wiki from light to dark etc. Yes, this wiki has been around for an extremely long time, but having a large, reliable, consistent encyclopedic resource for Transformers sounds better to me than having several for each of the continuities.
By looking at Teletraan-1, I have to say why do we even need to merge? There's a lot of pages that Teletraan-1 has from different communities and it just feels out of place. If you can get in contact with an admin from there, I would be glad to speak to them but I'm not saying we are merging.
Teletraan-1 does have a lot of pages. However, nearly all of their pages pertaining to the Aligned Continuity are incomplete, out-of-date stubs. Considering most of our pages are decent and updated, merging would cause Teletraan-1 to be a much better encyclopedia for the Aligned Continuity. I don't really get why it feels out of place for you. It's a Transformers wiki that has information on everything related to Transformers. It's practically Tfwiki.net on FANDOM, just with not as much content. Also, I am indeed in contact with an admin, both on the wiki and on Discord. You can visit his message wall here.
Hello, hope you're doing well. A user recently edited the Darksteel and Skylynx pages and changed their statusus from "Unknown" to "Deceased". I know we've had a conversation with another user on this before, but Hulk10 thinks that their statuses should remain "Unknown" as the writer Adam Beechen tweeted that they might still be alive. Do you think they should be considered Unknown or Deceased?
Hello. Thank you and I hope you are doing well too. They appear to be deceased as Starscream had revealed in Transformers Robots in Disguise 2015 episode Mini-Con Madness. Although Predaking's status remains uncertain as he wasn't seen in the flashback so it's likely he lived. For now the pages Darksteel and Skylynx remain deceased as their status and Predaking's status is online until further information or development is given by the official studios or producers (or people who are in charge of the studios).
i appreciate you and the other admins allowing me (or tolerating me) adding non-canon info on steve the vehicon about his "appearances" in transformers prime since it is just slapping a name on generic vehicons, but i was wondering if i could add info that makes him be the playable decepticon trooper in the game Fall of Cybertron who gets "killed" by starscream. i ask since the trooper is technically not (confirmed) to be a vehicon, but i like the idea of making him a bit of an origin story for the vehicon steve.
That sounds nice but it's not official to the Transformers Prime saga. We allowed the name but I shall check over the non-canon info for that page since it's supposed to be based on the Transformers Prime saga.

So are we keeping the non-official information or not?
The majority of the Steve the Vehicon page is non-official, lol. The page has stuff like "Steve is in another energon mine, when the Insecticons fly in and land in front of him." There is no evidence suggesting that Steve was the common name of the Vehicons who appeared in Transformers: Prime.
This is the page that indicates the whole idea about Steve and why it remains on this wiki or should. Honestly I don't have a problem with it nor does it go against the wiki's protocols but if you feel like it should be removed then I would speak to KrisPrime first.
Just to let you know, I will be taking a break from editing on this wiki. This is mostly due to my studies, but I have also decided to start editing and exploring other wikis. I'll be inactive for a few weeks, but once my academic stress calms down, I'll go back to contributing here.
After contacting them, a FANDOM Staff member has shut down the duplicate wiki.
The staff member's message:
Thanks for letting us know. Given that the wiki appear to have been created in bad faith (after a local block) and was clearly copying basically everything from the main wiki, I've gone ahead and closed it.
We'll also look into what other actions are warranted."
The user "StarPlat" has also been blocked globally across FANDOM. It appears he sent me a message on his wall, but I can't see it because the wiki was shut down. Regardless, it's good that he was blocked.
I've noticed we've come across a problem. The user called "StarPlat" (the one who was nagging us about Skylynx and Darksteel) has created another wiki called "Transformers Prime Wiki". Not only does the wiki share the same name as our wiki, but the pages he's created have information that has been copied from our wiki. I would've edited the pages, but he's protected them so only administrator's can edit them. What do you think we should do?
